Micky Arison has been Chair of the Board of Directors of Carnival Corporation since 1990 and Chair of the Board of Directors of Carnival plc since 2003.

As the world’s largest travel and leisure company, Carnival Corporation (NYSE/LSE: CCL; NYSE: CUK) has nine cruise brands, which are based throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Asia, and include: Carnival Cruise Line, Holland America, Princess, Seabourn, AIDA, Costa, Cunard, P&O UK, and P&O Australia.

Arison grew up in the cruise business—leaving college at the University of Miami and joining Carnival Cruise Lines, the company founded by his father, Ted Arison, in 1971.

Following a two-year stint in the Carnival Cruise Lines sales department, he became Reservations Manager in 1974 and Vice President of Passenger Traffic in 1976—attracting younger travelers and those who had never taken a cruise before with competitively priced packages and shorter itinerary options. He was named President of the company in 1979. Under Arison's direction, Carnival, became the industry leader by expanding its fleet through new ship construction and entering new market segments through acquisitions. In 1987, the company went public, generating $400 million for future expansion. In 1989, he engineered the acquisition of the Holland America Line to enter the premium cruise market. He also led the company’s acquisitions of ultra-luxury leader Seabourn; Cunard, operator of the world’s most famous ocean liners; Costa Cruises, Europe’s number one cruise company; and P&O Princess Cruises, one of the most recognizable names in travel.

In 2013, Carnival appointed longtime Carnival Board Member Arnold Donald President and CEO, with Arison continuing to serve as Chairman. He also is a member of the Cruise Lines International Association Global Executive Committee and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association.

Arison’s contributions to the cruise industry have been recognized by a wide range of international organizations. He has been named an “Officer of the French Legion of Honor” – the country’s highest civilian honor – by French President Jacques Chirac, received an honorary doctorate in naval architecture from the University of Genoa, and was awarded the Decoration of Commander, First Class, of the Order of the Lion of Finland by the President of the Republic of Finland. He has also been awarded the insignia of “Onorificenza al Merito della Repubblica Italiana” by the president of Italy, which confers that country's highest title on a civilian.

Outside of cruise, Arison is the Managing General Partner of the National Basketball Association’s Miami Heat franchise and has served as Chairman of the league’s board of governors.

Charles B. Robertson President & CEO, American Cruise Lines 0 Global

Charles B. Robertson is President & CEO of American Cruise Lines, the largest U.S. flag cruise operator. American Cruise Lines is part of a closely held group of maritime companies, including Pearl Seas Cruises and Chesapeake Shipbuilding, led by Robertson and his brothers, Clark and Carter Robertson.

Robertson succeeded his father and American Cruise Lines founder, Charles A. Robertson, who passed away on February 9, 2020.

He grew up in the business, working in the shipyard and aboard American Cruise Lines’ ships. He became a Vice President in 2014 and has led much of the line’s growth through market development and new ship introductions.

As the company grew, his focus shifted to ship innovation, personalized experiences, and partnerships with local communities throughout the country. He was instrumental in developing and launching the first modern riverboats in the U.S., a significant departure from the paddlewheelers that had historically been predominate on the U.S. rivers.

American Cruise Lines is the largest cruise line operating on U.S. waters, with the newest fleet of coastal cruise ships and riverboats in the U.S. All ships accommodate 100 to 200 passengers, and are built, crewed, and registered in the USA. With over 35 itineraries, American operates on the waterways of New England, Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, the Mississippi River system, and the Southeast.

Robertson is a member of the Global Executive Committee of the Cruise Lines International Association. He earned his MBA from Columbia University and holds a U.S. Coast Guard Master’s License.

Jason Liberty is the President and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group where he stewards the industry’s leading cruise brands including Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Silversea Cruises; as well as the joint ventures in TUI Cruises and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, of which the company is a 50% owner. Propelled by more than 100,000 employees from more than 140 countries, the Group’s fleet of 64 ships sails to all seven continents.

He was named CEO in January 2022, following a career spanning nearly two decades in the cruise industry, and helped navigate the company through the pandemic’s unprecedented challenges, ultimately bringing the business back to record performance in 2023.

Charles Sylvia ECC Vice President, Industry and Trade Relations 1 Global North America

Charles Sylvia, ECC is Vice President of Industry & Trade Relations with Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). Charles has been an active CLIA member since 1994, when he embarked on his career in cruise sales and marketing as a front-line travel agent at a brick-and-mortar agency in his hometown off Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

After 16 years focused on group cruises on the leisure side of the business, Charles moved to the corporate side, producing meetings, incentives, conferences, and events aboard cruise ships.

In addition to being a lifelong cruise and ocean liner enthusiast, Charles is also interested in start-ups, serving as an advisor to graduate students in Brown University’s Program in Innovation Management and Entrepreneurship (PRIME). Charles is also a JFK scholar, a British Monarchy buff, and a member of the White House Historical Association’s James Hoban Circle.

In his role at CLIA, Charles advocates for the interests of CLIA’s North America Travel Trade Membership, comprised of more than 67,300 travel agency owners and agents, and he serves as primary liaison for the CLIA Strategic Trade Advisory and Review Board (STARBoard) and the CLIA Trade Relations Committee.

Caroline Johnson Senior Vice President, Travel Trade Membership 1 Global North America

Caroline Johnson is the Senior Vice President, North America Travel Trade Membership. She oversees the Membership, Professional Development, Marketing, Events and Sales teams. Caroline is responsible for the membership value proposition and its successful delivery directed towards CLIA's Travel Agency and Agent Members. Her extensive experience in association and corporate leadership roles has helped her drive significant growth and value in the travel trade program. Prior to joining CLIA, Caroline was Senior Director, Marketing and Communications, at Meeting Professionals International, where she managed a department of 14 staff and built a unified brand by integrating consistent messages across all platforms, including a re-imagined member magazine and a robust social media strategy.

Donna Spalding CLIA Senior Adviser, Canada 1 Global North America

Donna Spalding leads the government affairs and community relations efforts on behalf of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) members operating in Canada and the Pacific North West (Washington state, Alaska, and Hawaii).

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Spalding has been a consultant for CLIA since 1999. Spalding has more than 25 years’ experience in nonprofit management, marketing, and planning—with expertise across the resource, financial, regional government, and legal sectors.

In addition, she is one of very few civilians globally who has completed the cruise Safety, Environmental & Health Officer training course.

Prior to joining CLIA, Spalding was a manager with the Vancouver Construction Association and executive director of the Ceramic Tile Association of British Columbia.

Over the course of her career, Spalding has served on a variety of community, government and industry boards and committees. She is currently a member of the Chamber of Shipping of British Columbia, and treasurer of the board of directors of the International Sailors Society Canada. Prior appointments include trustee and secretary of the Vancouver Maritime Museum.

Spalding graduated from Cariboo University College with a degree in business.

Renée Limoge Reeve Vice President, Government Affairs 1 Global North America Alaska & Pacific Northwest

Renée Limoge Reeve leads all government affairs and community relations efforts on behalf of Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) in Alaska.

Before joining CLIA in June 2021, Limoge Reeve held positions of increasing responsibility that helped establish her as an important liaison between Federal, State, and Tribal governments, and, the people of Alaska, with whom she shares a passion for the state’s diverse cultures, endless wildlife, epic beauty, and expansive coastlines.

Limoge Reeve’s love of Alaska was forever set following her graduation from college when she moved to Juneau from Washington, D.C. and became House Majority Press Secretary and subsequently Chief of Staff to a member of the Alaska State Legislature.

Limoge Reeve also served as spokesperson against a statewide ballot initiative and as Press Secretary for former Alaska Lt. Governor Craig Campbell. Following her experience working in the Lt. Governor’s office, she worked for the Alaska Support Industry Alliance, being promoted to Deputy Director. From 2018 to June 2021, Limoge Reeve was State Director for U.S. Senator Dan Sullivan.

Limoge Reeve is a graduate of the University of Vermont, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in political science. She and her husband, Michael, live in Anchorage with their yellow Labrador, Fenway, and take advantage of every opportunity to explore Alaska’s great outdoors.

Sally Andrews Vice President, Strategic Communications 1 Global North America

Sally Andrews is Vice President of Strategic Communications at Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA). In this role, she leads the development and implementation of strategies for internal and external stakeholder communications, industry engagement, media relations, issues and crisis management, channel optimization (owned and third-party), content and messaging development, executive communications, social media, and reputation-related event strategies.

Sally also serves as a liaison with key stakeholders and organizations in the Pacific Northwest in support of the CLIA government affairs team objectives and provides broad communications support for CLIA globally.

Before joining CLIA in February 2023, Sally spent more than 16 years in leadership positions at Holland America Line, with her last role as Senior Vice President and Chief Communications Officer. During her tenure, she oversaw public relations, global media relations, corporate and internal communications, community relations, social responsibility, reputation and crisis management, social media, partnerships, events, and marketing communications.

Sally has also held leadership positions in other industries including technology, financial services, telecommunications, insurance, and at agencies overseeing Fortune 500 accounts. Over the course of her career, she has led the development of many award-winning campaigns and high-profile initiatives for consumer and business audiences. 
Sally holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of Washington and is based in Seattle, Washington.

Andy Harmer Executive Director, United Kingdom & Ireland 1 Global Europe

As Executive Director for the United Kingdom and Ireland, Andy Harmer is responsible for the promotion and development of the cruise industry in the region through advocacy and trade relations. Additionally, Andy leads CLIA’s membership initiatives in the region on behalf of travel trade professionals and river cruise marketing affiliates, as well as the CLIA Executive Partner program, whose members range from ports and destinations to ship builders, to developers and leading maritime organizations that provide critical business services and products to the cruise industry. During his more than 10 years with CLIA, Andy has been responsible for the creation and implementation of CLIA’s travel agent program in the United Kingdom & Ireland, which offers an array of professional development opportunities, online and offline resources and material, training seminars and conferences for travel agents and agencies that support the cruise industry. In 2016, his role was expanded to include the introduction of the program across Europe. In 2020, he began additional oversight for the River Cruise Marketing Affiliate Program.

Alfredo Serrano National Director, Spain 1 Global Europe

Alfredo Serrano is National Director, Spain. Alfredo Serrano leads public affairs and strategic engagement with ministries, regional and local administrations and national stakeholders, as well as the direct relationship with the CLIA partners and members in Spain. Alfredo held the position of Managing Director at the Spanish cruise line Iberojet Cruceros, a division of the Iberostar Group. In 2007 Carnival Corporation & PLC acquired Iberojet and rebranded it to Iberocruceros, where Alfredo remained as the Managing Director. He was responsible for launching the company as a key player in the Spanish travel market by diversifying its customer base and establishing a presence in South America. Alfredo obtained the degree of Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and holds an MBA from INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France).
