Mike McGarry

Mike McGarry leads government affairs for Cruise Lines International Association. 

Prior to joining CLIA, Mike served as a government relations and public affairs leader for industry-leading brands, including Shell Group, VISA U.S.A., Harrah’s Entertainment, and MasterCard.

At Shell Group, Mike led Group external affairs in the U.S. and was later based in London where he was head of Global External Affairs for Shell Chemicals Companies Worldwide, leading government relations, public affairs, and issues management. Earlier in his career, Mike was Deputy Staff Director and Parliamentarian for the U.S. House of Representatives Financial Services Committee when historic legislation to modernize financial services laws was enacted, and investigative oversight hearings on financial institution fraud were conducted that received international media attention.
