Niels Wammen-Jensen
Executive Vice President, International Regions
Niels Wammen-Jensen serves as Executive Vice President, International Regions for Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the leading voice of the global cruise industry. Niels joined CLIA in August 2025 and is based in Brussels. Reporting directly to CLIA President and CEO Bud Darr, Niels leads cross-functional coordination across CLIA’s international markets outside of North America, to ensure strategic alignment with regional leaders in Europe, the UK & Ireland, Australasia, and South America. He also works closely with CLIA’s senior government affairs, maritime policy, and strategic communications teams.
Niels has more than two decades of experience in maritime policy, international regulation, and European public affairs, and is skilled in driving coordinated advocacy across complex international environments.
Prior to joining CLIA, Niels served as Group Vice President, Government Affairs for Europe at MSC Group, where he led engagement with European Union institutions on shipping, logistics, and transport policy. His earlier career includes leadership roles at the Danish Maritime Authority, with a focus on advancing the maritime industry’s policy and sustainability agenda.
Niels is a graduate from the University of Copenhagen and has a Master’s Degree in Political Science.
