Cruise Ship Fleet Profile

There is a solid balance across ship sizes in the fleet today and what the fleet will look like in 2028.

  • 34% of ships today have fewer than 1,000 lower berths.
  • 39% have 1,000 to 2,999 lower berths
  • 28% have 3,000 or more lower berths.
  • These numbers are pretty stable through 2028 (reflecting the current order book 2024 through 2028)

The orderbook information collated by CLIA in July 2024 through 2036 indicates the fleet profile will remain like what we see today:

  • 71 ships on order for delivery between 2024 and 2036.
  • Based on the future order book we see the average size of ships remaining balanced during the next decade and beyond.

As reflected in the current and future fleet profile based on the order book for the next 10 years, the size of ships is balanced
