Brian Beall

Vice President of Government Affairs
Brian Beall is Vice President of Government Affairs at CLIA. In this role, he supports public policy efforts in the U.S. and leads state and local advocacy and community relations in key cruise markets. In addition, Brian collaborates with cruise ports, U.S. and international travel organizations, and others on programs, initiatives, and advocacy issues of mutual interest.
Brian previously was with CLIA from January 2020 to May 2023, at which time he was named Director of the National Travel and Tourism Office (NTTO) and, subsequently, Acting Deputy Assistant Secretary and Director for Travel and Tourism, in the International Trade Administration’s Industry and Analysis division at the U.S. Department of Commerce. During his 2023 to 2025 tenure at the Department of Commerce, he led the team that works to enhance the international competitiveness of the U.S. travel and tourism industry and increase U.S. travel and tourism exports. Brian rejoined CLIA in April 2025 in his current role as Vice President of Government Affairs.
Brian has many years of private and public sector experience in travel, tourism, and public policy. From 2014 to 2019, he held a number of positions in the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce, including Deputy Director for Policy (NTTO) where he represented U.S. travel and tourism policy with foreign governments, private sector stakeholders, and federal agency partners; Senior Advisor to the Deputy Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service; and Senior International Trade Specialist in the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary for International Trade. Earlier in his career, he worked on Capitol Hill as a Legislative Fellow in the U.S. Senate, focused on travel and tourism policy issues, and as an analyst at the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
Brian earned his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Truman State University, where he graduated cum laude, and his Master of Tourism Administration with a concentration in tourism policy development from the George Washington University.
