Heather Connor RN. BN. CTH Vax2go Travel Clinic

Heather is a registered nurse with over 35 years of experience, the last 22 of which have been dedicated to the specialty of Travel Medicine/Health. She obtained her Bachelor of Nursing from Dalhousie University in Halifax Nova Scotia, the city in which she was born and bred. Heather’s initial involvement with Travel Medicine began while preparing to work overseas on a medical project in Africa. She was part of a team that worked in the northeastern province of Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC),participating in areas of community health, hospital care and teaching. Upon returning to Canada she co-founded and operated a Travel Health Centre in 2 locations in Southeastern Ontario, Canada.

Heather has been a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine since 1999 and obtained the Certificate of Travel Health in 2007. Currently she is Chair of the Nursing Professional Group of ISTM, working to serve the interests of nurses within the society. Heather has given presentations on Travel Health/Medicine to both public and professional audiences.
