    Cruise Industry Honored With Maritime Award of the Americas for Its Environmental Innovation

    The Secretariat of the Inter-American Committee on Ports (CIP) of the Organization of American States (OAS) announced Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) as the winner of the 2015 Maritime Award of the Americas, in the Environmental Waste Management in Cruise Lines category. The award process was highly competitive and the winning practices “showed measurable outcome and significant sustained impact.” The award will be presented to CLIA during the OAS Hemispheric Seminar on Corporate Social Responsibility and Gender Equality in the Port Sector, on April 29th, 2016, in Panama City, Panama.

    CLIA’S Inaugural Summit At Sea On Board MSC Preziosa Brings Together Industry in Unique Platform

    Cruise Lines International Association's (CLIA) first Summit at Sea, a new platform designed to engage with industry colleagues and cruise lines, was very well received by participating industry delegates. For four days (8-11 January), 120 participants representing 57 CLIA Executive Partners and 17 cruise lines were immersed in a tailored educational programme, including conference and workshop sessions on many current topics of interest for the industry, including port operations, health, destination development, environment, security, and safety.
